The project team held a three-day training by MESco in December 2020 because new computational tools and updates to the existing software for rotating machinery modeling has been launched onto the market. The training used the ANSYS Fluent software which is one of the pioneering CFD packages and is currently one of the most globally used CFD softwares.

The training covered, e.g. performing sample computational analyses in line with the Sliding Mesh and 6DOF approaches and based on geometric models of propellers and an autorotating rotor. The training also included an introduction to the overset mesh method and presented the cases made in line with Multiple Reference Frames (MRF) and Model Mixing Plane (MP) approaches.
